Patron – Pakistan Pharmacist Federation

Muhammad Tahir Khan

Muhammad Tahir Khan is the patron of Pharmacist Federation (Pakisitn) and qualified his B. Pharmacy in 1956 from Punjab University, Lahore, Pakistan. He has established the Pakistan Pharmacist Association in 1952 and was elected as pioneer Secretary General of PPA Pakistan for the session of 1952-53. Moreover; he was president of PPA Sindh during the session of 1980-82. Professionally he used to work at different executive positions with Frerozsons Laboratories, Cinamide Lederle Pvt. Ltd., Merck Shop & Dom Pvt. Ltd. and Platimum Pharma. He have international exposure of pharmaceutical manufacturing; Boots Lab. Pvt. Ltd., Nottingham, UK and different French pharmaceutical companies. Respected patron is now residing at West ridge, Rawalpindi and spending a peace retired life

‘Father of Pharmacy in Pakistan’.

Prof. Dr. Mian Naim Anwar Muzzafar

Prof. Dr. Mian Naim Anwar Muzzafar (born 2nd August 1935) was a Pakistani professor and researcher, commonly referred to as the ‘Father of Pharmacy in Pakistan’. He is best known as the founder of the Pakistan Pharmacists Association and the Lahore College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (LCPS). He was born in the well-renowned Arain Mian Family of Dhonalwal in Lahore, Pakistan. He was the youngest of four siblings. Dr. Naim Anwar Muzaffar was a legend who selflessly dedicated his whole life rooting for the pharmacy profession in Pakistan. After completing his Bachelors of Pharmacy from King Edward Medical College in 1957, he obtained a Masters in Pharmacy from the University of Philippines in 1963 and finally his [[Doctor of Philosophy|Ph.D]] in Pharmacy from the [[University of Mississippi]] in 1973. He then returned to serve his country. In addition to founding Lahore College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1997, he spearheaded the formation of the Pharmacy department at the University of the Punjab. He also served as the President of the Academic Staff Association at the University of Punjab. Later on he laid the foundation of the Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA). He was awarded the [[Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Association]] (FAPA Award) at the 10th FAPA Conference in [[Bali]] in 1988. A visionary leader and top educationalist of his time, he sat on multiple boards for several other Universities and Colleges such as Gomal University D. I. Khan, Baluchistan University, and B. Z University. Dr. Naim also served on numerous government bodies including the National Formulary Committee, Drug Registration, and Licensing Board and the Drug Advisory Committee amongst various others. He also helped publish over 40 Research Papers and was part of several different government bodies pertaining to Pharmacy as well. His priorities always aligned with the interests of his homeland, despite countless lucrative opportunities to work abroad he chose to give back to Pakistan expecting nothing in return. Pakistan will forever be in debt for his contributions to the field of pharmacy. He passed away on 10th March 2015 and left an unparalleled legacy of hard work, commitment, and loyalty.

Muhammad Iqbal

Muhammad Iqbal has received his Pharmacy graduation degree from Baluchistan University, Quetta Pakistan. He was having vast experience of pharmaceutical production, quality contrail and management all over the Pakistan. He was production manage at the Pharmaceutical unit of UoS to manufacture all major of kind of medications. The Pakistan Drug Regularity Authority has authenticated license to the pharmaceutical unit of the University of Sargodha for manufacturing medicines. The UoS is the first varsity which has got the drug manufacturing license. Now the pharmaceutical unit of the UoS has been authorized for making drugs, including tablets, capsules, oral liquid suspension and dry suspension. It is hoped that drug manufacturing production would mitigate the medicines need of the Sargodha as well as the government hospitals of the Punjab province.

Pakistan Point News – APP reported on Jun 19, 2017 that the Muhammad Iqbal said the units had the capacity to produce 800,000 packs per month. He said the University had imported top class machinery from high ranking company of European markets. Talking to newsmen, he told that University of Sargodha would revolutionize the pharmacy field and medicine on inexpensive rates would be avail to the ailing community. Moreover, the pharmaceutical unit would produce high standard medicines on cheaper expenses owing to slash down the medicines rates in the market. This would also prove helpful to cut the cure expenditures.

Prof. Dr. Riffat Ul Zaman

Dr. Rifat-Uz-Zaman holds a position of Professor at Gandhara College of Pharmacy, Gandhara University Peshawar. He has completed his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from The Islamia University, Bahawalpur, Pakistan and M.D in Homoeopathy from International Open University, Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is having 20 years work experience. Previously he was appointed as Demonstrator at University of the Punjab, Community Pharmacist at Mian Medical Store, Muraliwala Dist. Gujranwala Punjab, Lecturer, Assistant Professor at Islamia University of Bahawalpur Punjab, Assistant Professor at University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Punjab. Dr. Rifat-Uz-Zaman received honors include Gold Medal in M. Phil, and University Grants Commission (UGC) Scholarship for session 1989-90. He is also serving as sub-editor for Journal of Applied Pharmacy and review many research papers as a referee for many research journals. He is registered Pharmacist at Punjab Pharmacy Council, Lahore, member of Pakistan Pharmacist Association, Pakistan Pharmacist Association, Old Pharmacy Graduates Association, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, and executive member of Pakistan Higher Education Forum. He also attended number of national and international conferences. He has 21 research articles in journals as author/co-author. He has supervised 6 M.Phil thesis.
